Kobe Bryant and Pathetic Lakers vs. The Mighty Utah Jazz

It's not hard to see how the Los Angeles Lakers got themselves into this position. It happened not too long ago when the league's biggest ball hog, I mean MVP ran Shaq, Phil, and an assortment of other Hall of Famers out of town. Now we fast forward back to Spring 2008. The mighty Los Angeles Lakers find themselves all tied up with the B-rated Utah Jazz. Could this have anything to do with the one dimensional behavior of the Lakers.

The Lakers are very similar to the Cleveland Cavs. They are both one dimensional teams. They have one dramatic superstar i.e. Kobe and Lebron. They have several B-rated supporting players. You could match Lamar Odem to Cleveland's Ben Wallace. You can also match Pau Gasol to Cleveland's Joe Smith. They are professional ball players, it goes without saying. But when it comes to clutch time the ball is going only one place. This one dimensional play is what is responsible for the Laker's off again on again play off performance.

These days the NBA is littered with brilliant coaches and it doesn't take very much to shut down the one dimensional Lakers. Let the other guys shoot and disrupt Kobe's flow. Next thing you know Kobe will be laying on the arena floor claiming he has a bad back. I don't know about you but I've never seen any athlete score 30 points with a bad back. But I guess that's why he's the MVP. Even with a "fake bad back" Kobe can fly through the air and score 30+ points. I guess that bad back was also responsible for that horrible 3 point shot at the end of the game which hit nothing but glass. Hooooray for Kobe's back. That's the reason the Lakers are losing!!! Yeah right. Come on Kobe. You gotta come up with a better one then that.
